DeKalb is a city that experiences all four seasons and has a mix of urban and rural driving conditions. Therefore, a mid-size SUV or crossover would be an ideal choice for a DeKalb car rental. These types of vehicles offer a combination of passenger and cargo space, fuel efficiency, and versatility in different driving conditions. An SUV or crossover provides better visibility and handling on rural roads, while also being able to handle snowy or icy conditions in the winter.
The standard speed limit within city limits is 30 mph. However, there are certain areas where the speed limit is higher or lower. In residential areas, the speed limit is typically 25 mph. On major streets, the speed limit may be increased to 35 or 40 mph. For example, along Annie Glidden Road, a major north-south thoroughfare running through the city, the speed limit is typically 40 mph. On highways surrounding the city, such as I-88 and I-39, the speed limit is typically 65 or 70 mph, depending on the stretch of road. The speed limit on rural roads outside the city limits is often 55 mph.
In DeKalb, there are several parking options available, including free and paid parking. The cost of metered parking will vary depending on the time of day and location. There are also several parking garages in downtown DeKalb that offer both hourly and daily rates.

Pros:
Attendants were polite and picked us up and delivered us back to the residence.Cons:
Didn’t like that they couldn’t help me with the toll payment problem. (I didn’t have all the change for a unmanned coins only toll booth on the Illinois tollway. I’m from California. Upon returning the car, I informed the enterprise staff who referred me to the 800# Enterprise problem solver which they said could walk me through paying the toll online, but that person couldn’t help. Also I returned the car with more gas than it had when I received it. (1/4 tank over), I thought they would reimburse me for the difference but just gave me a business card saying I could get the gas credited on the next rental but I rarely rent cars. I dont think the business card would be honored in the future anyway.7.6 Good

The initial car was left unclean and appeared to have animal hair left in the vehicle. One of our family members is extremely allergic to pets. When we asked the employee they understood why we were concerned but it took an additional 90 minutes to produce another vehicle & charges additional $110!2.0 Poor

Pros:
A week before the reservation, I made an alteration to my reservation directly through hertz website to change to a bigger car and an extra day. I was quoted an extra 30 bucks which is understandable. Within two hours from that change, which is still a week away, i called hertz to change back to my original reservation because I realized I didn’t need that extra day. I was ready to accept the $30 that I was charged because of changing the reservation multiple times. To my surprise, the rep on the phone said that I will be charged an extra 50 dollars for that change. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? But if I cancel the reservation I will not be charged for anything? What kind of business is Hertz running and Kayak backing up? I cancelled everything and called my local Avis and got more for my money. Wait no, I got the same car for 30 dollars cheaper. Call your local dealer, they will have better rates.Cons:
Never hertz again.10.0 Wonderful
