When we arrived at Oakland Airport to drop off the car, one of the workers saw that we were traveling with a toddler, a car seat and a lot of luggage. To save us the trouble of having to unload everything, carry it and wait for the shuttle, he drove us directly to the airport terminal in our rental car, and then returned the car for us. While this is not normally part of his job, he went above and beyond to help us. This made our day and was a great start to our Christmas holiday.Reviewed Jan 10 2024

Pros:NothingCons:The website took me to San Jose, California when I asked for San Jose, Costa Rica without adequate warning that it changed the location. For that reason, my booking was incorrect. It was extremely difficult to cancel the reservation because none of the numbers worked from San Jose, Costa Rica. When I finally connected to somebody, she was able to cancel the reservation and reversed the charges. She booked another car for me in San Jose, Costa Rica and sent me a guaranteed price. When I went to pick up the car, this guaranteed price jumped up by $400!! This is totally unacceptable. I won't be using Hertz for any future car rentals.Reviewed Mar 21 2021

Cons:Pick up was terrible! The woman at the desk was helping a customer and socializing at the same time! She was even helping him w his itinerary. I stood in line for 20 minutes then she finally acknowledged me and told me to go to the kiosk to check in and get my car!!!!!! So rude!!! I will go back to Enterprise and pay a little more. Inflated promisesCons:I know that all car rentals say (car model) "or similar", but Kayak misrepresented the size of the car in that class. Because of this, Hertz didn't have inventory to fill the reservation. I had to rent from another vendor to meet my needs and it cost more. Kayak, please get your act together.Reviewed Mar 7 2017

Disappointing for hertzPros:Price was okCons:They advertised a Toyota in both cases and ended up With lesser substitute twice. The $9 a gal fill up is really taking advantage of customers.
