When we arrived there were many people in line at other rental providers. Our wait was minimal. We were told initially that our car was unavailable and that we would have to wait. After only a couple of minutes we were provided an upgrade that was much nicer than the mid size SUV I reserved.Reviewed Oct 13 2022

So I think that a poor rating should be changed to a your company stinks no one could give me an explanation why I was blocked at the counter , had to find help with another company which cost me double and then you stilled billed me ok so you don't stink you suck!!Reviewed Oct 7 2022

My car was upgraded from a Camry to a BMW 2022 228 Gran Coupe. Nice car but a little daunting in equipment. I had to spend some time figuring out the shift, radio, ventalation etc. If I was in a hurry it would have been frustrating, but I wasn't so it was ok.Reviewed Oct 6 2022

I was on a delayed flight to Boston and tried calling the Logan office to notify them in case I arrived past their closing time. The main Sixt line did not allow you to contact the office. Once I arrived at the rental counter, I was the 7th customer and did not get processed until an hour and fifteen minutes later. They were short staffed and highly inefficient.Reviewed Jul 23 2022

We took a chance with a company we have never used before to save a little money and now realize it wasn't worth it! In the middle of a full business week of travel through New Hampshire, it was brought to our attention that one of our tires was missing 3 of the 5 lug nuts! Thankfully we were only a few blocks from the hotel we were staying at that evening. We parked and I called the only number I could find. A third-party tow company was supposed to come and never showed that evening. I could not reach an actual Sixt employee who could help me explore an exchange for a new vehicle but finally did get a tow truck to bring it back to the Boston airport. I'm waiting to hear back for a refund for at least the three days we were without a vehicle but either way we will never use Sixt again for work or leisure!Reviewed Jun 20 2022

am filing a complaint vis this channel and requesting compensation credit with SIXT rental car since I can never get anybody from the toll free customer service line after 8-9 tries. My rental car confirmation number is 9918929874 and the name on the reservation is Mengjin Dong. We arrived 15 mins before the scheduled 9:00PM pick up time and there is a line. So after waiting in line for about 40mins we finally got to the service rep, which I understand can happen. When I made the reservation with Kayak it was free to add a second driver, but I wasn’t sure, so waited until the pick up day to add. The rep told me there will be a charge now to add a second driver. It is ok whatever. Then she told me we had to wait another 20 more mins if we wanted to get the type of cars(Toyota Camry) we reserved because everyone wants a smaller car due to the gas price. We hesitated since we have a long drive and full schedule starting early the next morning. Before we answered, she “upgraded” our vehicle to a SUV (Chevy Blazer) as a “courtesy”. Thinking we had to start early the next day, we agreed. We drove the Blazer out and 20mins later, the “check engine” light came on!. We pulled over and tried to call the toll free service number. We tried multiple times and waited, nobody answered. We drove the Blazer back to SIXT car return, and the person who worked there wasn't happy to see the engine light on either. We requested to get the same kind of car we originally reserved instead of this big SUV since we will be driving long distances and drive in New York city. The guy said, no he doesn’t have any small cars, but he can give us a Toyota 4Runner, which is better on gas than the Blazer. We were told there is no choice and we had to get a Blazer or 4Runner, but 4Runner is better on gas. While waiting for the 4Runner, I saw one person take a Lexsus and another take a BMW from the parking lot. So I guess there was an option, but not for us. After all is said and done, when we got the 4Runner, it was about 1.5 hours after we first picked up the car. So SIXT just wasted 1.4 hours for 4 of us! When we got back to the hotel it was after 11:00pm. After driving about 180 miles the next day we noticed the gas tank was gone by about half. The first filling was 10+ gallons and $50+. Looking it up a bit more, I realized 4Runner’s MPG on highway is only 19! This is much worse than the Camry at 39 and even Blazer at 29! As a result we spent at least twice as much on gas as it could have been if we had gotten our original reserved car and we gave up the idea of driving this big car in New York city (parallel parking in a tight space) I haven’t filed any complaints to any car rental companies in all my traveling years, but I am going to do this one, since it is just aggravating. I am requesting a refund of the extra gas money we spent (234.19/2=117.10), plus compensation for the time we wasted with having to switch cars (4x1.5=6 hours), not mentioning the frustration it caused by having to lose some sleep that night due to the hours wasted. I can send you our gas receipts if needed. -- Mengjin 214.733.0996Reviewed Jun 5 2022
